Course Details :

B.Sc. Statistics course is a three-year undergraduate programme, as per CBCS pattern and four year undergraduate programme as per NEP 2020 pattern, that broadly deals with the areas of Probability and Statistical Methods, Numerical Analysis, Survey Sampling, etc. that is essential for analysis of statistical data and solving statistical problems in various field such as Social Science, Commerce, Biological Science, Psychology, Inventory etc.

Intake and groups available :

  • F. Y. B. Sc.: 40, PCMS (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Statistics)
  • S. Y. B. Sc.: 25, PMS (Physics, Mathematics and Statistics)

Course features :

  • Diagrammatic and graphical representation of statistical data and interpretation.
  • Description of data through measures of central tendency and dispersion.
  • Interpretation and utilization of measures of central tendency and dispersion.
  • Study of skewness and kurtosis.
  • Linear and non-linear regression models.
  • Probability theory
  • Applications of statistics : Time series analysis, Index numbers, Queueing theory etc.

Eligibility for Admission : 12th Science passed
