DEPARTMENT OF M.Sc. ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY : Introduction
The Department of Chemistry was established in 1993. Department offers programs leading M.Sc. (Analytical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry) degrees with 24 students’ capacity in each subject. Department has a long history of offering students and research scholars in-depth training in research as well as top-notch training in cutting-edge fields of chemical science.
The students pursuing these courses would have to develop in-depth understanding of various aspects of chemistry and to create better opportunities in pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
Savitribai Phule Pune University (BCUD & ASPIRE) and University Grants Commission (UGC) Grants are received by the departmental teachers for major/ minor research projects. Department has a highly qualified staff and PhD research center which engages all graduate and post graduate students with research activities in the field of analytical, materials, nanotechnology, and Organic chemistry.
Students carry out research work for master’s project, write review articles and give seminars/ webinar online/offline on recent chemistry topics in national and international conferences. As per the New Education Policy (NEP)- 2020, the department has SPPU approved value added instrumentation course of 04 Credits which is mandatory in On Job Training (OJT) course.
Every year Campus interviews are talks place in department for both analytical and organic chemistry students from various industries like Chem-tech., Sahyadri, Orah Nutrichem, Knowchem Labs and VSG hallmarking.
