The Department was established in **2007** by starting the **M.Sc. (Computer Science)** course with an initial intake of **30 students**. This was done to provide in-house higher education facilities to students and offer them good exposure to the IT industry. The department expanded its intake to **60 students** by adding another division in **2017**. The **M.Sc. (Computer Applications)** program began in **2021** with an intake of **30 students**.
