A Grand Celebration of Talent and Cultural Fusion
The much-anticipated Desai Karandak 2K25, an intercollegiate technical and non-technical competition, concluded successfully at Haribhai V. Desai College, witnessing an overwhelming participation of 1051 students from 32 senior and junior colleges across Pune. Organized by the Department of Computer Studies and Management.
This three-day extravaganza (Jan 29-31) provided a dynamic platform for students to showcase their creativity, technical expertise, and cultural talents. Themed “Cultural Fusion – Maharashtra and Gujarat”, the event featured 12 competitions, including C Champions, Web Guru, Debate, Street Play, BGMI, and Box Cricket, along with a vibrant poster competition on Chemistry in Daily Life.
The grand inauguration was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Shri Rajeshbhai Shah (Chairman, PGKM), Dr. Ravindra Vaidya (Principal, MES Senior College Pune), and Dr. Rajendra Gurao. The chief guest, Dr. Ravindra Vaidya, delivered an inspiring keynote address, emphasizing the significance of participation in education and cultural activities.
The three-day competition concluded with a spectacular prize distribution ceremony, where S.P. College, Pune, bagged the prestigious Champion’s Trophy. Trophies, certificates, and cash prizes were awarded by notable guests, including actress Shraddha Bhagat, Actor-director Ajit Patil, and Hon. Trustee Shri Anujbhai Gandhi.
The event received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with participants lauding the well-organized competitions, fair judging, and warm hospitality. Introducing new formats like Box Cricket and BGMI added to the excitement, making this edition of Desai Karandak the most successful yet.
The competition was efficiently coordinated by Ms. Shailaja Gujarathi and Ms. Monica Dhotre, with strong support from the college management and faculty. Desai Karandak continues to set new benchmarks with its growing stature, promising an even grander edition in 2026!
